 Object Of Bale Opener Machine :

  1. To unfold the bale of cotton.

  2. To mix & blend the fiber.

  3. To remove a considerable amount of waste from fiber which is extracted by a fan.

  4. To act as a reserver box for the upcoming machine.

Function of Bale Opener Machine:

  1. Air suctioning.

  2. Regulating motion by swing paddle.

  3. Beating action.

  4. Spiked lattice action.

Main Parts & their functions:

  1. Feed lattice.

  2. Bottom lattice.

  3. Inclined spiked lattice.

  4. Striker.

  5. Evener roller.

  6. Wiper roller.

  7. Grid bar.

  8. Beater.

  9. Delivery pipe/ trunk

  10. Swing rod

Their functions:

  • Feed lattice: Raw cotton is given as input in the feed lattice.It gives forward motion and carries the bale’s separated cotton fibers. 

  • Bottom lattice: From feed lattice, raw cotton is transferred to bottom lattice.It also gives forward motion to carry the cotton till inclined spike lattice.

  • Inclined spiked lattice: It gives upward motion and spike separates the ball of cotton.It inclined at 45°.

  • Striker: It strikes the cotton fiber.

  • Evener roller: It gives even formation of cotton. Due to close space between evener roller & inclined lattice & rotation of evener roller in opposite direction, excess lumps of cotton are thrown back into feed lattice

  • Wiper roller: It just cleans dirt particles attached to cotton and protects it over the grid bar system.

  • Grid bar: It is used to separate fiber and impurities.

  • Beater: It beats fibers to further remove trash and thrown onto grid bars.

  • Delivery pipe/ trunk: It transfers the fiber for the upcoming machine.

  • Swing rod: There are two swing rods as feed limitation indications.



Working principle of bale opener:


At first, compact fiber was placed on the feed lattice.

Then the tuft was carried out along with bottom lattice which is half in size

of feed lattice.


Two swing rods were placed at the top of the bottom lattice to be used

for uniform feed & reduce over feed.

Inclined spiked lattice with 45° angle was placed at the end of the

bottom lattice and has 6 row spikes in it which do the opening of the tuft .

A wiper roller which has 4 rubber sheets, was placed at the

side of evener in order to keep evener roller clean of impurities.

Then the tuft was carried out along the beater roller which has

4 rows of pin & rubber sheet and grid of triangular shape to do the

opening of the tuft by doing beat up fastly.

After the beat up process, tuft gets loose and impurities of high

weight get stored in a waste box which is placed under the grid.
